About Us
Hudson Valley
Clean Energy is a full service solar electric, solar hot water and
geothermal installer serving Ulster, Dutchess, Columbia, Greene, Putnam
and northern Orange Counties. We specialize in the design, installation
and servicing of solar and geothermal systems.
Hudson Valley Clean Energy
designs and installs solar electric, also known as photovoltaic (PV),
systems that convert the sun’s rays into clean and efficient
energy that can power any electrical equipment in your home or office.
Solar electricity is safe and sensitive to the environment with no
pollution, emission, or noise and is now widely affordable. State
rebates and tax credits can total up to 60% of a PV system’s
total cost! Photovoltaic systems also save consumers money as low
risk investments yielding predictable 6-12% annual returns through
lower electric bills. Systems can have optional battery back up capabilities
for power outages or interrupted power.
Through New York State’s
Net Metering programs, if the PV system is producing more electricity
than is being consumed, the utility’s meter will spin backwards,
selling back the excess electricity to the utility, at the retail
rate,.
Geothermal systems (ground
source heat pumps – GSHPs) are also safe and sensitive to the
environment. GSHPs use the earth as a heat source in the winter and
a heat sink in the summer. Using the earth’s natural ground
temperatures, the heat pump, a device which moves heat from one place
to another, transfers heat from the earth to the house in the winter
and transfers heat from the house to the earth in the summer, thus
creating a cool house in the summer and a heated house in the winter.
Geothermal systems use
underground loops to transfer the heat. There is no external venting
and there are no harmful fumes released into the atmosphere (zero
emissions). Because of zero emissions, a chimney is not necessary
for ventilation. Geothermal systems also help to minimize ozone layer
destruction by using factory sealed refrigerant systems, which usually
never have to be re-charged. Geothermal systems also save money, both
in operating costs and maintenance costs. Investments can be regained
in a short period of time. Since the energy savings usually exceeds
payment on the system, there is a positive cash flow.
There are many environmental
benefits from installing renewable energy systems besides being clean
and efficient. Our renewable energy systems decrease greenhouse and
acid rain gas emissions by reducing the amount of oil, coal and natural
gas that is burned by electric utilities, thus contributing to improved
air quality. Greenhouse gas emissions are the number one cause of
global warming, which is causing both ends of the earth to melt at
an alarming rate and has the potential to cause numerous problems
around the globe.
At Hudson Valley Clean
Energy, we take pride in providing excellent, professional service
and reliable products. We work one on one with our clients to design
and install the best systems to meet their renewable energy needs,
whether it be for commercial, government, or residential projects.
Our lead designer is a licensed Professional Engineer, a nationally
certified photovoltaic system designer (NABCEP) and an International
Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) accredited installer.
Our installation crews are clean, courteous and efficient.
Hudson Valley Clean Energy
offers a consultation as the first step to ensuring the best, high
quality system design. All of our photovoltaic systems have a 25 year
warranty on the solar modules and a full 5 year warranty on all material
and workmanship. Geothermal systems have a 10 year manufacturer warranty
on the geothermal unit. We provide full service to our customers from
beginning to end, handle all New York State, utility and local government
paperwork, and provide ongoing support after the completed installation.
We are available to answer your questions on renewable energy. Our
customers are of utmost importance to us!
“Hudson
Valley Clean Energy is dedicated to helping produce clean and efficient
renewable energy to benefit you and protect the environment.”
