Purchasing and Material Planning Specialist
Solar Energy Systems
Responsibilities:
- Assist with scheduling, planning, and supply of material for solar electric and solar thermal
installations
- Analyze the material requirements of upcoming jobs, order material, and ensure material is
available when needed
- Communicate effectively with project managers, suppliers, engineers, field operations manager
and installation crew supervisors
- Maximize speed of installations, material and labor costs, and customer satisfaction
- Run occasional errands, picking up and delivering material to job sites
- Manage material inventory and stock. Organize warehouse and track material.
- Work closely with suppliers. Source new material specified by engineering
- A combination of inside and field installation work may be involved, especially during initial
training.
Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, written communication, and organizational
skills.
- Willingness to accept responsibility and do what it takes to get the job done.
- Strong drive, energy and good attention to detail. Ability to handle numerous tasks
simultaneously.
- Strong computer skills; internet, word processing, spreadsheet, database programs.
- Ability to plan ahead and anticipate problems without specific instruction.
- Completion of training courses in solar system engineering or installation highly desirable
- Prior experience in material planning and purchasing is required
- Must have a NYS drivers license with zero points / clean driving record
- Smoking is not permitted on company and customer premises or in company vehicles.
Compensation and Hours:
- Full time hourly position, normally Monday to Friday 7am to 4:30pm with one hour lunch.
Overtime may be required to overlap with installation crews.
- Pay range $17 – 22 per hour dependent on experience

Solar Electric Systems Installer
Responsibilities:
- Work on an installation crew installing solar electric systems.
- Tasks include electrical work, excavating and ground work, roof work, and general construction
in residential or commercial environments
- Communicate effectively with Field Operations Manager, Field Supervisors, and Engineers to
optimize safety, quality, productivity and customer satisfaction
- Ability to work effectively in a small team and at a variety of customer sites.
- Attain OSHA 10 hour certification.
Requirements:
- General construction knowledge and experience
- Electrical construction experience, residential or commercial wiring
- BOCES or community college or equivalent solar electric training
- Ability to work on ladders and roofs. Ability to work outdoors year round, weather permitting.
- Carefully follow company safety and installation procedures
- Maintain professional behavior and appearance in front of customers at all times
- Must have a NYS drivers license with zero points / clean driving record
- Smoking is not permitted on customer or company property or in company vehicles
